Apricus Generation is building a national Distributed Solar Energy development platform and Independent Power Producer (IPP) through a roll up, scale and exit strategy. The investment opportunity is an enhanced application of the strategy previously deployed by its founders.
Apricus is run by recognized pioneers and leading experts in Distributed Energy. The team has built and exited multiple distributed solar platforms and has managed both large regulated and nonregulated energy businesses with national scale. The team has transaction experience in deals worth over $10B as principal dealmakers including vast capital raising experience. Apricus founders have completed multiple exits including three exits to public companies delivering outsized returns.
Tail wind for the distributed generation market has accelerated since passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which extends the investment tax credit for 10 years. The IRA also adds additional incentives which can increase base tax credits from 30% up to 60%. Provisions in the tax code allow for transferring credits which will make utilization of available credits much easier, and accelerated depreciation and additional local and state incentives makes certain states even more attractive.
